The Hamptons Offshore Invitational,
is a fishing tournament to benefit Big Brother Big Sisters of Long Island.
The donated proceeds help keep Big Brothers Big Sisters programs growing on the East End!
The Hamptons Offshore Invitational is now in its 16th year. Sponsored by the Shinnecock Marlin & Tuna Club, the invitational has grown into one of the premier East Coast fishing tournament events.
Drawing an average of 60 boats and 600 guests, the tournament and awards dinner sells out every year. Anglers are encouraged to enter early and secure their chance to land the big one! Since its inception in 2001, the Hamptons Offshore Invitational, has raised more than 2 million dollars for BBBSLI.
The Tournament culminates in an incredible awards dinner at Oakland's Restaurant. Festivities include: presentation of trophies to Tournament winners, a silent auction, raffles and door prizes. The huge success of the Tournament can be credited to the good will of the club members, participants and sponsors.
More than 50 sponsors donate cash, services and merchandise to support our efforts. "It takes lots of hard work," said SMTC President, Captain Scott Horowitz. "I'm proud of the membership and sponsors for such a safe, wholesome and well-organized event that benefits the community."
Based at Oakland's Marina in Hampton Bays, this annual event offers 9 days of offshore angling and one of the best parties on the East End. 70% of the entry fees are returned as cash prizes along with specially designed trophies in 7 categories, and recognition for tag and release is awarded. But this tournament is not just about the thrill of the hunt or the right to brag at the dock. It is about giving back to the community.
